Legacy web pages of Axel Beckert
Since I'm no more active at the Fachschaftsrat Informatik of
the University of Saarland anymore, I have transferred all my
university time legacy web pages from
http://fsinfo.cs.uni-sb.de/~abe/ to this interim host
at http://fsinfo.noone.org/~abe/ with only minimal
modifications, mainly e-mail addresses.
Most pages on this interim host won't be updated anymore until they
are moved (and redirected) step by step to their
future home somewhere under http://noone.org/.
Please also note that my former e-mail address
no more valid. Use firstname.lastname@example.org

Just another little Perl script... :-)
- wApua 0.06.1 is out. It's a maintenance release fixing some POD
issues, updating some of the links on the internal pages as well as
some slight code refactoring.
- The wApua source code is now hosted on http://git.noone.org/?p=wapua.git.
- wApua is available
in Debian Etch (which is currently in the Testing stage).
- wApua is available
in Debian Unstable aka Sid.
- wApua 0.06 is out. Besides documentation and man pages, there are
Many small bugfixes and usability enhancements since 0.05 and 0.05.1.
For the first time, there's also a Debian package of wApua available.
The package should work fine on Debian Woody (3.0), Sarge (3.1) and
Etch (upcoming 4.0) and probably also works on other Debian-based
distributions like Ubuntu.
- Compatibility bugfix release wApua 0.05.1 dev is out. It mainly
fixes the use with Tk 804.027 and above so it should run again on
e.g. Ubuntu. It also fixes the local installation documentation.
- wApua 0.05 dev is out.
There are compilation problems with wApua 0.04 when using PERL
versions lesser than 5.006: Comment out the line
bin/wApua and everything should
- wApua 0.04 dev is out.
- wApua 0.03 dev is out.
Due to some bug in our ftpd, the original tar-ball of wApua 0.02dev
contained the source code of wApua.pl version 0.01dev and version
0.02dev concatenated together. The tar-ball is now fixed. Sorry for
any problems because of this. (The bad gzipped tar-ball had 29kB, the
good one has 20 kB.)

The wApua source code, the wApua web and the wApua WAP pages
were all written with GNU Emacs.
The wApua logos were made with The GIMP (PNG and JPEG only; there
GIFs) and ImageMagick (WBMP).
